THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet, is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearences with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. HORSES & BAYONETS vs BINDER FULL OF WOMEN

Word wranglers and concept wrestlers enact Humpty Dumpty scenarios

for a Tweedledumb/Tweedledumber demographic. We know they will say anything

yet a fascination for empty rhetoric and gladiatorial vitriol

hypnotizes us in the cheap seats. All heroes are fictional.

Some have better subtitles. The Dalai Lama said FORGET(and we did

but not before contemplating the alternative). Delegation delays, defers, responsibility.

Criticism does not cure. In our life, we have apportioned time, energy, purpose.

All leaves us when we withdraw/go silent. Our lives are in the hands of others

We rely upon goodwill, empathy, wisdom and grace.

Some drag in flags, and gods, and guns - bullets over ballots

Too late to demur, deny, deify. Time to shine - as bright as example

is writ in action not just script. Dramatically speaking, the stage is set

Now - is it just a stage we are going through?

or the last stage out of war zones?
