LINK: Patrick Moraz - grown up backwards



Impact (1976)

Patrick Moraz, only with Yes for about a year, (he was actually with them about two and a half years and did three world tours, JD) was brought in to the keyboards chair after Rick Wakeman abandoned ship in 1974. His sole contribution to their recorded work can be found on the fabulous Relayer (1974), a largely undervalued part of their collected output. Immediately prior to his stint with Yes, Pat had been in Refugee with the remnants of Nice, so, effectively, he had first replaced Keith Emerson before stepping in for Wakeman. I like the Moraz style, which owes more to jazz than old Rick's, and I do wish he'd made more albums with Yes.
